Hawks team up for donations

Liberty Hawks football player Kaleb Roth is looking for businesses to work with the team and donate to Valley Children’s Hospital.

Roth started a “Beyond the Game” campaign to get businesses to donate $10 for every point scored by the Liberty football team during every game and season and donate it to Valley Children’s Hospital.

“Liberty High School football is about building a young man’s character and “Beyond the Game” allows the players at Liberty to play for a higher purpose than just winning football games, which we intend to do a lot of,” Roth said.

As of press time, Roth doesn’t have a sponsor for Friday’s home opener against Firebaugh. Roth is trying to get businesses to either sponsor a game or the team during the season. The businesses will be acknowledged at the game for their generosity. Businesses and individual can also make a donation of any amount for any game this season. Donation boxes will be at each home game and also at local Madera Ranchos businesses. All donations are tax deductible.

To sponsor a game or make a donation, contact Rebecca Harp-Sligh at Liberty High School at 645-3500.
