Torres’ Diego Jimenez controls the ball in the middle of the field in Friday’s semifinal match against Wasco. Jimenez assisted on the only goal of the match to send the Toros to the Div. III title match.
For the second time, the Matilda Torres Toros boys soccer team is mirroring the girls soccer team.
The third-seeded Toros took down the upset-minded 15th-seeded Wasco Tigers in a thrilling 1-0 victory Friday in Toro Stadium.
The day before, the girls won their semifinal match to play in the championship Tuesday. The boys won their match to host Bakersfield tonight at 6 p.m. in Toro Stadium.
