Liberty product readies for Year 7

Cleveland Guardians’ free agent signee Connor Brogdon throws a pitch to Liberty varsity players during the Liberty Hawks’ Alumni game in January. Brogdon was the featured attraction, and didn’t disappoint. He struck out two with eight pitches in his inning of work, and even hit a single in his first plate appearances in about 10 years.

After his debut midway through the 2020 season, former Liberty Hawks standout Connor Brogdon prepares for his seventh season, this year with the Cleveland Guardians. 

Brogdon, 31, has compiled a 4.36 earned run average with a 13-10 record, primarily in relief for four teams in his career. He has struck out 195 batters in 192 innings pitched. 

“It’s been a good journey and it has taught me a lot,” he said.
