Coyotes advance to semis

Behind the best pitching performance of the season, the Madera Coyotes softball team advanced to the Div. II semifinals in defense of its Div. II Valley Championship.

Coyote ace Destiny Ricks tossed a one-hitter to handcuff the ninth-seeded Tulare Western Mustangs 3-1 Friday at Zimmerman Field.

The top-seeded Coyotes host the fourth-seeded and County/Metro Athletic Conference foe Sanger today at Zimmerman Field for a berth in Friday’s Div. II Valley Championship game at Margie Wright Diamond at Fresno State.
