Two killed on State Route 99
California Highway Patrol Madera officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on southbound SR-99, south of Avenue 12 on Thursday just after 6 p.m. A 37-year-old man from Selma was driving a silver 2002 Honda Civic, southbound on SR-99, south of Avenue 12 within the No.1 lane, at an unknown speed. Horseshoe League seeks new pitching courts

Coyotes fall in fifth place game
The Madera Coyotes girls basketball team advanced to the fifth place game of the Cen-Cal Holiday Invitational at Matilda Torres, but couldn’t match Yosemite’s height in a 43-34 loss.
