Stand Down for new Veterans Court today

The Madera County District Attorney’s Office will hold a Veterans Court during the Veterans Stand Down in Oakhurst today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event at Sierra Pines Church, 40855 Covey Court, off State Route 49, will offer free medical exams for veterans, and consultations with Veteran’s Administration personnel.

This is Phase I of Madera County District Attorney David A. Linn’s plan to start a Veteran’s Court in Madera County. Linn, himself a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam, included the Veterans Court as a campaign promise when he ran for district attorney in 2014.
