Torres scores late for win over Central

Matilda Torres’ Austin Meza slides under the Central third baseman’s tag on a third inning stolen base in Friday’s win. The lead-off batter was on base all three times with a hit, walk and hit by pitch. He also scored a run with two stolen bases.
The Matilda Torres Toros baseball team scored all five of its runs in the final two innings for a 5-1 victory over the Central Grizzlies at Torres.
The Toros scored three runs in the fifth and two runs in the sixth for the win Friday afternoon.
Jose Velasquez was dominant on the mound. He allowed four hits over six innings of work. He struck out eight and walked one while throwing 102 pitches. He threw 71 strikes against 31 balls.
