Matilda Torres Ariana Garcia drives in for a first half bucket in Thursday’s victory over San Joaquin Memorial.

In the second game of a brutal four-game week, the Matilda Torres Toros girls basketball team jumped out to a comfortable lead, and cruised to a 48-25 victory over the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers.

The win over the Panthers on Thursday was also the first of three wins in three days and four wins in a six-day stretch for the Toros. The Toros defeated Roosevelt on Friday for Senior Night and played a non-league game with Justin Garza on Saturday. And, this was after they defeated Sanger West on Monday.

Kaylin Perez led the Toros with 14 points to go with three steals. Jillian Villalobos scored 10 points with four steals and J’Lynn Mitchell scored eight points.
