The best walk is a cake walk

Three layers of delicious chocolate cake will put a smile on most faces.

Fall festivals often include a cake walk, but I have not participated in any since the day I realized I was the only adult going around in circles hoping to win a cake.

To this day, I am not sure if it’s okay for adults (other than parents of small children) to play that game. But cakes can be enjoyed at any time of the year, even if there is nothing to celebrate.

Cake is on my mind right now, because my mom just ordered a bakery sheet cake for my birthday. The day before my birthday is my oldest son’s birthday, so both our names will be on the cake.
