The Madera County Supervisors received presentations of the fiscal year 2025-2026 County and Special Revenue budget proposals, as well as the Public Works Special District proposed budget during a special meeting Monday morning.Â
While students are finishing up their classes and preparing for Summer, so too ends the 2024-2025 fiscal year for local governing bodies across the state. Various departments within the governing bodies have been working for months in preparation of reports that summarize the use of the years funding allocation, and simultaneously aim to justify through meticulous calculation the proposed amount of funding required next year to fulfill their obligations to constituents.Â
Budget proposals were presented to the Board of Supervisors in two presentations, after hearing an opening statement from Madera County Administrative Officer Jay Varney.
