Supervisors focus on fire department

As Madera County heads into the drier heat of the upcoming summer months, fire prevention and safety was a central theme during Tuesday’s supervisors meeting. 

Several agenda items related to fire included the recognition of the promotion of Fire Chief Chris Trinidade.

A resident of Madera County, Chief Trinidade had been with the CalFire Madera Mariposa Merced Unit (MMU) since his career began in 2005 where he worked his way up as a fire apparatus engineer, to captain, and eventually up to deputy chief of operations within the MMU in May 2021 where he was placed to oversee the operations of the three counties for fleet training, safety, emergency command center, and resource management.
