Madera South’s Maria Hernandez sends a cross court kill past the Fresno block during Tuesday’s win. Hernandez put down nine kills in the five-set victory.
After picking up its first North Yosemite League win last week, the Madera South Stallions went into its match against Fresno with a little bit of confidence.
The Stallions rode that confidence to a 25-17 win in the first set against the Warriors, but their old ways started to sneak back in with a 25-17 loss in the second set.Â
The Stallions rebounded for a 25-14 win in the third set before dropping the fourth, 25-23. Madera South closed the match with a 15-12 fifth set win. The Stallions outscored Fresno by 19 points in the two regular set wins before the fifth set.
