Stallions open tourney with loss

Madera South Stallions girls basketball head coach Johnny Sharp knew his team had its hands full with the Edison Tigers to open the Madera South Shootout on Tuesday.

However, his team played a scrappy first half that saw the Stallions trailing by one at the half. However, a 25-11 third quarter, highlighted by an 11-0 run, led to a 46-32 Edison victory.

Except for the third quarter, the Stallions were very much in the game. Without the third quarter, the two teams tied at 21.
