Stallions offense as cold as weather

Madera South’s Jorge Gutierrez throws a pitch during Thursday’s loss to the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. He struck out 10 in 6 2/3 innings pitched.

After waiting through the rain, the Madera Stallions baseball team’s offense couldn’t defrost in a 3-1 loss to the San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno Panthers.

The Stallions only banged out three hits and left 10 runners on base in Thursday’s loss at Eddie Chapa Field.

The offense wasted a quality performance on the mound by Jorge Gutierrez. He tossed 6 2/3 innings and allowed one run in three separate innings. He only allowed five hits and struck out 10 with three walks.
