Not only did the Madera South Stallions romp its way through the North Yosemite League, the team also swept the end of the seasons awards.
Stallions’ No. 1 player Kevin Franco-Rodriguez was named the league’s Most Valuable Player, and first-year head coach Nathan Melchor was the league’s Coach of the Year.
Melchor and Franco-Rodriguez helped lead the Stallions to many firsts this season. They were the first Stallions’ team to finish the regular season undefeated, going 17-0. Obviously, they went undefeated in the NYL, and captured the program’s first league title.
