Second half surge lifts Madera

Madera freshman Janyah Spotwood drives to the hoop during Friday’s victory over Madera South. Spotwood led the Coyotes with 13 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Madera Coyotes girls basketball team took advantage of its dominance on the boards and its dominance in the second half for a 47-22 victory over the Madera South Stallions at Madera South. 


The Coyotes spoiled the Madera South Senior Night Friday with a 25-point victory that was also sparked by a 48-24 rebounding margin. 


Madera South honored Kawaii Perkins, Giselle Mendoza, Crystalina Buitron, Yerelie Saldivar, Jeanette Duran, Georiyah Gatewood and Marilin Hernandez before the game.
