San Joaquin Winery earns awards
San Joaquin Winery is thrilled to announce awards from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the “largest competition of American wines.”
The Moody Press Cellars Sparkling Moscato earned a gold medal, and the Moody Press Cellars Brut Blanc de Blanc and Brut Rosé both earned silver medals.
“Our winemaker, Miguel Sanchez, took a bold new step in 2021, producing the very first vintages of sparkling wine at our winery,” said Erica Magarian, San Joaquin Winery Tasting Room Manager.
“The response from our patrons has been incredible, and to win a gold medal and two silver medals from such a prestigious competition was the icing on the cake for us,” Magarian added. “Our wine club members and guests have been calling non-stop to taste our Moody Press Cellars Sparkling Moscato. It is a beautifully balanced representation of grapes from the Russian River Valley.”
Winery owners, Steve and Cindy Schafer say, “We are very excited about these awards and encourage guests to stop by the tasting room to try these amazing, award-winning, sparkling wines.”
San Joaquin Winery is open for wine tasting Monday-Friday from 1-5 p.m.; Saturdays, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sundays, from noon-4 p.m.
It is recommended tasters call before visiting to ensure availability.
