Property tax bills mailed out
Madera County Treasurer-Tax Collector Tracy Kennedy announced that more than 62,000 secured property tax bills have been mailed to the names of the property owners shown on the most recent tax roll.
These secured tax bills represent more than $268.3 million dollars in property taxes that are due and payable to the Madera County Tax Collector. Upon mailing the tax bills, some Madera County taxpayers immediately make their payments.
“We are excited to announce that the Tax Collector’s Lobby is being remodeled,” Kennedy said. “Tax Collector staff is available to assist customers on the first floor of the Government Center. Staff is also available for over-the-phone assistance. This year, we want to continue encouraging our taxpayers to pay online. It’s not just convenient, it’s also safe and secure. Payments are immediately posted to our property tax system, providing an immediate receipt. This secure online payment system ensures your financial information is protected. Taxpayers with bulk payments of an aggregate amount of $50,000 or more are encouraged to pay online or must pay by EFT (electronic funds transfer). This year, most of your tax bills come with two helpful inserts. One provides essential information about your property taxes and includes a QR code for easy, instant payment. The second insert is from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department. It has QR codes to stay updated with MC Alerts and Madera Aware and to download the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Mobile App.”
