Madera American’s Matthew Castaneda looks to be tagged out on a play at the plate. However, the glove was empty as the throw was missed to allow Castaneda to score the second run of a 5-0 victory Friday against Chowchilla.

The Madera American Little League 10-12-year-old All-Star team opened the District 10 tournament in fine fashion with a combined no-hitter.

Four pitchers combined to shut out Chowchilla, 5-0, Friday afternoon at Madera National. They continued District 10 play over the weekend at River Park.

Rodrigo Osuna got the start, and tossed two innings with six strikeouts and two walks. Alonso Rosel threw 1 1/3 innings and struck out four. Juan Camacho tossed 2 1/3 innings with a strikeout. Matthew Castaneda finished the game getting the final out.
