MUSD staff receiving vaccinations

For The Madera Tribune

Madera Unified School District’s Theresa Brown, who works in the Fiscal Services Department, receives a COVID-19 vaccination Wednesday in the Madera South High School cafeteria. She was one of 200 staff members to receive a vaccination.

Madera Unified School District, in partnership with Camarena Health Centers and the Madera County Department of Public Health, began administering COVID-19 vaccinations to the first 200 staff members.

Madera Unified utilized the California Department of Public Health guidance in choosing who received the vaccine first on Jan. 27. The list included 65 and older, child nutrition employees, safety officers, teachers and education staff who interact with the public face-to-face or those who cannot do their jobs from home.

The vaccinations took place at the Madera South High School Cafeteria.

Due to the national vaccine shortage, Madera Unified does not know at this time when they will receive more vaccinations for its more than 2,000 remaining employees.
