Mt. Zion prepares for cook-off

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church will host its second annual BBQ Cook-Off at the church (322 Wallace).

There will be cash prizes for the best barbecued ribs and the best tri-tip. The cost to participate in Saturday’s cook-off is $50 and entrants must cook a pork rib and tri-tip.

“We have five people signed up,” said coordinator Sam Neely. “We are looking for up to about 10 cooks.”
