MPD makes arrest on safety officer

The Madera Police Department became aware of a possible inappropriate sexual relationship between a Madera Unified School District employee and a juvenile high school student on February 22.

Madera Police Department currently has three School Resource Officers (SRO), one assigned to each high school campus. The SRO gathered information from the school regarding the allegations, and worked closely with our detectives for a swift and complete investigation into the matter.

Information was received and confirmed that 21-year-old Kimberly Lorenzo, who was employed with Madera Unified School District as a Substitute Safety Officer, was involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.
