Madera Police Officer Jose Barajas uses radar to check motorist’s speed over the weekend.

Traffic related issues continue to be a concern, not only amongst the community, but also for the Madera Police Department.

Along with the MPD traffic team, some patrol officers like Officer Jose Barajas are trained and certified in radar and LiDAR.

Over the weekend Officer Barajas was, in various areas of the city, enforcing speed limits. One motorist was cited for going 22 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.
