A group of volunteers gather for a photo after distributing 1,000 boxes of food during a distribution on Saturday hosted by Pacific Farm Management and La Estrella Market.
Pacific Farm Management, in partnership with La Estrella Market, handed out more than 1,000 boxes of food in 40 minutes on Saturday.
The event was originally scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., but started closer to 7:30 a.m. as hundreds of families had already lined up in the cold and in their cars.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the same community where I was born, raised, and now do business,” Pacific Farm Management Inc. owner Mike Alamari said. “After seeing firsthand the impact the government shutdown and pause of SNAP benefits are having on local families, I decided to partner with La Estrella Market to help those in need.”
