Liberty falls in Silver Division title game

The young Liberty Hawks girls basketball team advanced to the Silver Division championship game of the Cen-Cal Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament at Torres, and faced a familiar opponent.

The Hawks, who do not have a senior and has one junior on the team, got a preview of what their Northwest Sequoia Conference game will be against the Yosemite Badgers on Friday. After a first-day loss in the tournament on Dec. 7, the Hawks defeated Firebaugh to advance to the Silver Division Championship. 

After falling behind early, the Hawks used a second and third quarter stretch to get back into the game, before falling, 45-39.
