Letters: I can’t ‘uncure MAGA’
This newspaper recently published a letter of mine in which I celebrated making America great, again and again, by using the strength of our government to make ALL Americans equal under the law. I cited examples of how the mandates of our American revolution have become the laws of our American evolution. It’s that ongoing, forward-looking progressive struggle that makes America great.
While the slogan “Make America Great Again” may initially sound celebratory, the words and deeds of its proponents expose its defilement of the American premise of equality for ALL. But an Idaho MAGA Republican, whom I’ve known and appreciated for 45 years, wrote to “commend” me “for recognizing the “Make America Great Again” campaign championed by the followers of the Republican Party.”
Perhaps I was too subtle?
