I did not know Ray Pool very well. Enough to say, “Hi, How are you?” when we ran into each other. Most of what I think I knew about him, I learned from listening to others who knew him well and spoke so highly of him when he received his Farmer of the Year award a few years ago.
But if I had not attended that dinner, and knew little of him, I still would have respected his character, work ethic and kindness. That’s because I think so highly of Audrey Pool. Any man she chose to marry had to be someone special, don’t you think? I do.
My condolences. I hope that the Pool family finds solace in Ray’s well-lived life, family and friends.
