Former Madera Coyote softball standout Vanessa (Salinas) Tua’au earned a Madera Athletic Hall of Fame induction in 2022, but was unable to attend the ceremony.

A little more than three years later, Tua’au will earn an induction into the Madera Coyote Softball Hall of Fame, and will be able to attend the ceremony. She will be inducted with Jennifer (Parker) Moran, Coyote teammate Jocelynn Medina and the 1989 team.

“It is such an honor to be inducted in both. Because it’s softball, and you have to be great to be amongst the great,” she said. “This time is more exciting because it’s for the sport that I love. To be able to get picked and get inducted into the Softball Hall of Game, you get more specific. I get to be with the greatest of the greats. It’s more special and it’s more home for me because this is my sport and what brought me to Hawaii for a scholarship. It’s what led me to my husband and raising four kids out here.”
