VISALIA — The Liberty Hawks baseball team completed a dominating run through the Div. IV Central Section playoffs with a 9-5 victory over Immanuel-Reedley to win the Div. IV championship in Visalia’s Valley Strong Ballpark.

After allowing three first inning runs, the Hawks scored eight straight to take control of the game and McGuire Smith put the exclamation point on the board with a solo home run in the sixth for the program’s fourth Central Section title Saturday afternoon.

“It’s really nice. I’m glad for the team. We worked really hard for it,” Smith said.
