Former Madera Coyote and current North Central College women’s wrestler Madison Avila gets a ride on her teammates’ shoulders after winning the 101-pound National Championship this weekend. She helped lead NCC to its first-ever womens’ National Championship.

Class of 2022 Madera High School graduate Madison Avila is continuing to excel in wrestling.

A little more than a year after winning the Coyotes’ first Central Section girls wrestling championship, Avila is now a National Champion wrestling for the North Central College Cardinals.

Avila also helped the second-seeded Cardinals win the program’s first-ever National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this weekend.
