Distemper virus hits Madera animals

The Madera County Animal Shelter, at 205 Tozer St.
The Madera County Animal Services Department is alerting the public of confirmed cases of the Canine Distemper Virus.
“We have found some of the dogs have tested positive,” Madera County Animal Services Director Amy Toler said.
The virus is highly contagious and affects dogs and certain wildlife animals, including raccoons and foxes.
