Coyotes win fourth title

FRESNO — The Madera Coyotes finished off the Frontier-Bakersfield Titans with a 4-2 victory to capture the program’s fourth Central Section Title and first since 2016.

Behind another solid pitching performance from Nastasha Griffin and clutch hitting by freshmen Malea Ricks and Destinee Avila, the fourth-seeded Coyotes scored in three innings for the win Friday night.

“What a neat finish to the postseason,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “I think the kids came ready. I enjoyed watching the younger players played.”
