Torres’ Jose Velasquez throws a pitch in Tuesday’s comeback win over Madera South. Velasquez got the win on the mound, allowing one run over five innings, and got the comeback started with a two-run double.

Tuesday’s cross-town rivalry baseball game was a tale of two halves between the Madera South Stallions and the Matilda Torres Toros.

The Stallions looked to be cruising after jumping out to a 6-0 lead through the first three innings Tuesday evening at Eddie Chapa Field.

However, the Toros put up three innings of crooked numbers to score eight unanswered runs for an 8-6 victory.
