Madera’s Giselle Jimenez gets a shot off for one of her three goals during Wednesday’s playoff loss to El Diamante in McAlister Pool.
The Madera Coyotes girls water polo team headed into its first-round playoff match-up against El Diamante on kind of a roll.
The Coyotes rolled through the County/Metro Athletic Conference with a 9-1 record, and earned the No. 5 seed in the Central Section Div. III playoffs to play No. 12 El Diamante.
However, Madera’s two captains, Emily Wattenbarger and Ari Gill, were “rolled” early in the game, and the Coyotes couldn’t hang onto the match.
