Coyote seniors finish six years together

For The Madera Tribune

Last month, the Madera Coyotes swim team honored five graduating seniors for their work for the past four years.

However, the work of William Magdic, Garrin Hatfield, Rajan Bains, Elijah Ceballos and Enrique Solis actually began in middle school.

Three of the five have known each other since kindergarten, so it is safe to say they won’t lose touch once the next chapter of their lives starts.

The five seniors not only helped in erasing a 28-year-old school record in the pool, but they also swam to a third place finish in the Div. II Central Section championships.

Magdic plans to attend a Merced Junior College to play water polo and to study general education with plans to transfer to a university that is yet to be determined.

Hatfield will head to Concordia University in Irvine this fall to study psychology and compete on the men’s division II swim team.

Bains will attend community college with plans to transfer to UC San Diego once he completes his general education in the area of computer science.

Ceballos is off to CSU Fresno where he will study engineering.

Solis will join Magdic at Merced Junior College to play water polo. He will transfer to Fresno State to earn his bachelor’s degree and become a dental hygienist.

As their next chapter begins, they will always have the bond of Coyote aquatics.
