Council celebrates past royalty, receives updates

Madera Mayor Santos Garcia gave a proclamation recognizing the hard work of city employee, and resident, Eric Hayward during last week’s Madera City Council meeting.

Hayward retired after 19 years working in the parks maintenance division, dedicatedly serving the community by ensuring the upkeep of Madera’s parks and athletic fields.

Council members were also given video presentation of Senator Anna Caballero’s Young Legislators Program. Drawing from Merced to Coalinga, the program gives students from the 14th district the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how the state government operates while fostering greater confidence in the students to be involved in government work.
