The city has future plans for a roundabout at the intersection of Lake Street, Fourth Street and Central Avenue.

Traffic will soon run just a bit smoother for one busy intersection in Central Madera.

Following the presentation of an updated intersection control evaluation report, City Council members directed staff to proceed with an upgrade that will significantly reduce congestion and risk of pedestrian injury for years to come.

In a report conducted in conjunction with GHD presented by City of Madera Senior Civil Engineer Jonathan Gramajo last Tuesday evening reevaluating the Lake Street/4th Street/Central Avenue Intersection, members of the Council decided to proceed with the installation of a traffic circle which will reduce congestion at the intersection during peak use times while reducing the likeliness of pedestrian injuries.
