Eat it plain, or add goodies to it, it’s your choice. Homemade ice cream is a welcome treat.

As of this writing (and several days before), the summer temperatures have been blistering.

One morning, while finishing up with watering the plants on my deck, I could hardly wait to get back inside. It wasn’t even 8:30 yet, but the heat was already past my limit of tolerance. And I live at 3000-feet elevation, in the pines and cedars, where it’s supposed to be cool. Maybe it should just be described as “a little less hot” instead of using the word “cool.”

Most of the wildlife that visits my yard have been spending the daylight hours holed up somewhere in the shade, except for one very determined coyote, the same one that had one of my cats in its mouth (but it escaped). She must have young ones to feed, because in this neighborhood, let’s just say you have to keep an extra-sharp eye on your fur babies. Mine don’t get out anymore.
