Assault puts 2 in hospital

Madera Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Georgia Lane following a report of an assault on Monday at about 1 a.m. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 62-year-old female and a 15-year-old female juvenile victim inside the residence. Both victims sustained significant visible injuries consistent with being struck by a blunt object. 

Based on statements and evidence gathered at the scene, officers identified the suspect as 18-year-old David Daniel Torres who fled the residence prior to officers’ arrival. He was quickly located nearby, attempting to hide in the front yard of another home.
