More New Year’s Eve parties set

Thanks to late publicized events, Maderans will have many area options to celebrate New Year’s Eve today.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981 will host a New Year’s Eve Celebration at its hall, 2026 N. Granada Drive, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a dance at 8 p.m. Dinner features sliced filet mignon, chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread, coffee, dessert and a champagne toast at midnight. The price is $35 per person or $60 for a couple; $350 for a table of eight with a complimentary gift basket.

Toca Madera Winery, 36140 Ave. 9, and Tropisoul Events will present their second annual New Year’s Eve Sip n’ Tropical Party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. DJ Glez and DJ Lady D will spin salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton music. Champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. Food trucks. No outside food or drink. Cover charge of $15 at the door. VIP reservations available. Ages 21 and older.

Farnesi’s Steakhouse, 230 E. Robertson Blvd. in Chowchilla, will offer live classic rock and country music to dance in the new year 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fresno band Bullseye will perform. Contact Farnesi’s Steakhouse, 665-2258.

The Pines Resort, 54432 Road 432 in Bass Lake, will have a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner at 4 p.m. Reservations required. Cost is $70 per person and includes entry to New Year’s Eve Party. An alternative “Sunset Menu” is only $30 and is 4-6 p.m. Contact the resort, 642-2585, ext. 444.

The aforementioned New Year’s Eve Party will be at the same resort from 8:30 p.m to 1 a.m. Live music by NiteFlite, complimentary snacks, party favors, champagne toast at midnight and a fireworks show over Bass Lake. Tickets are $15 per person and in limited supply.

The Oak Room, 40807 Highway 41 in Oakhurst, will feature blues rock bands Chainsaw Nation, Heavyfoot and Alias on stage from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Attendees must be 21 or older.

As reported Wednesday, Miracle Skate will host a children’s celebration from 2-4 p.m. today and an adult one 7:30 p.m. to midnight ($10 admission for either), Beezer’s Place will be open for dancing and drinking 9 p.m. to 1 p.m., Vineyard Restaurant is taking reservations, and Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino will welcome attendees from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for live music and a toast ($25 ticket).
