New Year’s Eve parties planned

Those who wish to celebrate the end of 2016 and the start of 2017 locally will have at least a handful of options Saturday in Madera County.

Children may want to head to Miracle Skate, 1850 W. Cleveland Ave., for a Kids’ New Year afternoon skate from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. For $10 admission, attendees receive a skate rental, a slice of pizza, a soda, hats, horns, a balloon drop with prizes, and access to a bounce house.

Adults have more options, starting with an all-ages event at Miracle Skate from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. A $10 admission again grants a skate rental, balloon drop with prizes, hats and horns, but this time it also includes unlimited pizza and soda from 8 to 9 p.m.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981 will host a New Year's Eve Celebration at its hall, 2026 N. Granada Drive, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a dance at 8 p.m. Dinner features sliced filet mignon, chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread, coffee, dessert and a champagne toast at midnight. The price is $35 per person or $60 for a couple; $350 for a table of eight with a complimentary gift basket.

Beezer’s Place, suites B and C at 25952 Avenue 17, will host a night of dancing and drinking from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m with DJ Eddie. The bar and grill also features pool tables, a full kitchen and multiple televisions.

The Vineyard Restaurant & Bar will also be open New Year’s Eve. Reservations can be made by calling 674-0923.

Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, 711 Lucky Lane in Coarsegold, will offer the priciest option. For a $25 ticket, attendees can enjoy an apple cider toast and live music by Hindsite in the Firehouse Lounge from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., complete with a balloon drop at midnight. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
