Madera High senior graduates in hospital

Student gets diploma despite car accident From this graduation season comes a story of perseverance. About a week before getting her diploma Thursday, a severe car accident threatened the life of a Madera High School teen.

Chayla Wiggers survived major injuries but is still recovering. Memories of the crash are as fresh to her as her wounds.

“Crazy; they said it was insane that I was alive. They were actually shocked,” she said.
