2-car crash claims passenger
For The Madera Tribune First responders take care of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle trying to make a U-turn on westbound State Route 145 on Sunday. Graffiti taggers arrested
Over the weekend, Madera Police Department officers were dispatched to the 27000 block of Georgia Ave regarding juveniles tagging a community mailbox. Multiple concerned citizens called in the actions to the Madera PD dispatch. With the information provided by the callers, officers were able to quickly locate the suspects and make an arrest. Further canvassing of the area revealed additional gang related graffiti in the area.

CHP Madera begins 2026 with new leadership
For The Madera Tribune Timothy Santoro is the new CHP Commander. CHP welcomed Lieutenant Commander Timothy Santoro as the new Commander of the CHP Madera Area, beginning January 1. SAR helps vehicle out of mud
Madera County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) crews responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in mud above Sugar Pine in the Sierra National Forest on Friday. A family of four had been driving on a Forest Service Road when they attempted to cross a large, muddy section of the road. Rain causes rollover
A solo Ford Mustang crashed and rolled over on SR-41 north of Yosemite Springs Parkway at about 6 a.m. Sunday. The driver was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, and is currently listed in critical condition. Caltrans was on scene providing one-way traffic control while the vehicle was towed and CHP units clear the scene.
