

Cattlemen’s Dinner held at Buchenau Ranch

The Madera County Cattlemen’s Association held its annual dinner at Buchenau Ranch on Friday. The evening was one of friendship and comradery as cattlemen of Madera County enjoyed visiting with each over and honoring special people of the cattle industry. Central Valley unites against heart disease and stroke
The American Heart Association is set to hold its annual Central Valley Heart and Stroke Walk event to raise awareness of heart and brain health, as well as raise funds to support scientific research, community impact projects, CPR education and more. The Saturday event will be held at 4150 Town Center Blvd. in Tesoro Viejo, beginning at 8 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 8:45 a.m., and the walk at 9 a.m. The event will include a 5K walk, with a shorter survivor route.

Voter registration deadline is Monday
Madera County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Rebecca Martinez announced that in order to be eligible to vote in the November 4, Statewide Special Election, persons must register to vote by Monday, October 20. Farmers welcome October storm
Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune Standing water sits along Avenue 13 1/2 and Road 23 1/2 after Tuesday’s rainfall. The recent storm laid down more than an inch of rain. The recent storm that laid down more than an inch of rain came at a pretty good time for Madera County farmers. According to Creekside Farming President Jay Mahil, most of the crops have been already harvested and those that aren’t, benefitted from the storm. “We will take it when we can get it,” he said.

Tech Trek students share experience with AAUW

Fossil Discovery Center provides Halloween fun
The Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County will host its fourth annual Haunted Night at the Museum on Saturday. The event will be from 7-9 p.m. This will be a night of fun for just $10 per person, and includes a hot dog meal. Kids under two are free. Traffic collision claims 2 lives
Madera Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Avenue 16 and Road 23 regarding a two-vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival Monday morning at about 6 a.m., Officers observed a male juvenile standing outside of one vehicle and two adult occupants trapped inside the second vehicle. Officers and emergency medical personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures. However, both adult occupants succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision.
