Toros pull away for road victory
FRESNO — The Matilda Torres Toros outscored the Roosevelt Rough Riders 24-12 in the second half to record a comfortable 58-37 County/Metro Athletic Conference 2 victory. Coyote comeback bid falls short
The Madera Coyotes boys basketball team stayed in contact with the Justin Garza Guardians, and cut the lead to three in the final moments, but free throws and missed shots led to a 60-55 Garza victory. The Coyotes outscored the Guardians 19-12 in the fourth quarter and made them sweat in Joe Flores Gym. Torres records shutout over Bullard Knights
The Matilda Torres Toros girls soccer team scored three first half goals and cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Bullard Knights in County/Metro Athletic Conference action. The Toros got a goal in the 11th minute, and added two more in the first half Tuesday at Matilda Torres. The Div. IV-based Toros recorded an important league victory over the Knights, who are a Div.
