Wanted suspect arrested

The Madera Special Enforcement Team (MADSET) deputies — supported by the Madera Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) and K9 Odin and his handler Deputy Schoonmaker — served a search warrant on Island Drive on Thursday.
There, they took 40-year-old Brandon Johns into custody without incident. Johns was wanted for vehicular manslaughter in a fatal August 2024 crash on SR-145.
He is also a registered sex offender who reportedly recently cut off his ankle monitor.
