Second half keys Coyote win

Madera’s Stevie Estrada gos up for a shot during Tuesday’s victory over the Reedley Pirates. He scored 16 points with 15 rebounds.

 

The Madera Coyotes boys basketball team outscored the Reedley Pirates 42-29 in the second half to record a non-conference victory Tuesday in Joe Flores Gym. 


The Coyotes had three players score more than 15 points in the victory. The key was a 27-17 third quarter that allowed Madera to take control of the game. 


Shovawn Gonzales led the Coyotes with 22 points. Elias Torres added 21 points to go with 13 rebounds, eight offensive. Stevie Estrada added 16 points with 15 rebounds and 10 on the offensive glass.
