River Fire under control

In the latest release from Cal Fire, the River Fire, which has burnt almost 9.700 acres, is under control.


Cal Fire reported 97 percent containment of the fire, which started July 11 and the cause is still under investigation.


There was smoldering overnight due to moderate humidity recovery, Cal Fire reported in a Monday statement.


All evacuation orders, warnings and road closures have been lifted.


However, Cal Fire reminds people to continue to drive carefully as emergency personnel are still working through the fire area. They also remind residents to remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate in the event that fire activity changes.


As of Monday, there were 49 engines, 11 water tenders, two helicopters, four hand crews and two dozers working the fire, as well as 478 personnel.
