I was so excited to talk about my class reunion last week that I neglected to celebrate my late father’s birthday.

On August 25, my father, Oliver Ralph Hill Sr., celebrated his 97th birthday.

Both Daddy and my oldest brother carried Oliver as their first name. Neither of them ever used that moniker.
