Not enough offense for Hawks in loss

Tyler Takeda/The Madera Tribune

Liberty’s Macie Webster tries to drive by a Chowchilla defender during Friday’s loss. Webster led the Hawks with six points and pulled down six rebounds.

The Liberty Hawks girls basketball team had plenty of chances to do some damage against the Chowchilla Tribe in a Northwest Sequoia Conference game at Liberty, but had trouble finding the bucket in a 36-19 loss.

The Hawks had one player score more than five points in the loss. They also couldn’t overcome 38 turnovers in the game.

Chowchilla had their troubles, as well, turning the ball over 23 times in three quarters, but managed to keep the Hawks at bay.
